Competition Format
The competition consists of a Preliminary Round and a Final Round, both performed live.
👉 Final Round Theme: Mozart
All selected finalists will perform Mozart Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414, first movement, accompanied by chamber orchestra at the Andermatt Concert Hall.
Repertoire Requirements
Age Categories
Age is determined as of January 1 of the competition year.
Preliminary Round
Group 1 – Junior (under 14 years): Two contrasting works (etude, sonata, or piece)
Programme duration: maximum 8 minutes
Group 2 – Pre-College (14–18 years): Two contrasting works (etude, sonata, or piece)
Programme duration: maximum 10 minutes
Group 3 – Young Artists (18+ years): Two contrasting works (etude, sonata, or piece)
Programme duration: maximum 12 minutes
Final Round
All selected finalists will perform:
W. A. Mozart – Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, K. 414 First movement
(with chamber orchestra)
Final Round Eligibility
To be eligible for the Final Round, candidates must perform the required concerto in the Preliminary Round.
Candidates who do not perform the required repertoire remain eligible for prizes but will not be considered for the Final Round.
