Li Sheng
Viola
Shanghai Conservatory of Music
Violist Li Sheng is Professor of Viola and Head of the Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Department at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. He previously served as Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Music in London and as Artist-in-Residence at the Curtis Institute of Music.
An influential pedagogue, Li Sheng has trained numerous internationally successful violists. His students have won major prizes at prestigious competitions including the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, Young Concert Artists (New York) and the Washington International String Competition.
In recognition of his achievements in music education, he has received several distinguished teaching awards in China.
