Heidi Wölnerhanssen

Soprano · Vocal Professor

Swiss soprano Heidi Wölnerhanssen studied voice in Sweden with A.E. Edholmer and later in London with the renowned vocal pedagogue Vera Rozsa.

As an opera and concert soprano, her artistic career has taken her to numerous European countries, as well as Israel and Australia. Since 1982, she has regularly appeared at Theater Basel in leading roles including Pamina, Solveig, Norina and others. She has also performed as a guest artist at the State Opera Hannover, Heidelberg Theatre and the Prague State Opera.

As a concert and oratorio singer, Heidi Wölnerhanssen has appeared in major musical centers together with internationally renowned orchestras, including the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Czech Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra and Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with distinguished conductors including Armin Jordan, Mario Venzago, Paul Sacher, Peter Maag, Kevin Rhodes and many others.

In addition to her performing career, she has been deeply involved in chamber music and recording projects for radio, television and CD productions.

For many years, Heidi Wölnerhanssen has also dedicated herself successfully to the training of professional singers and has established an outstanding reputation as a vocal pedagogue.
